New Women's Health Initiative Brings Health Products, Education and Support Directly to Women Across the GTA

Partnership between Haleon Canada, GlobalMedic and Shoppers Foundation for Women's Health helps improve access to self-care resources and health support for women facing barriers to care

TORONTO, ONT., Sept. 09, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Haleon Canada, GlobalMedic and Shoppers Foundation for Women's Health have come together to launch a new Women's Health Van that will bring health products, education and access to healthcare support directly into underserved communities across the Greater Toronto Area.

Designed to help address barriers that can make it difficult for women to access everyday health products, trusted health information and support, the mobile service will work alongside community organizations across the region to deliver practical resources where they are needed most.

For many women, everyday barriers such as transportation, lack of childcare, time pressures from work or caregiving, language barriers, stigma and difficulty finding trusted health information can make it harder to access the products and support they need. The Women’s Health Van helps address these challenges by bringing essential products, practical tools and trusted information directly into communities.

"We see firsthand how barriers to care can affect women and the communities around them," said Rahul Singh, Founder and Executive Director, GlobalMedic. "When women have access to the resources they need to manage their health, the benefits extend beyond the individual. This initiative helps us meet women where they are and connect them with resources that support healthier families, stronger communities and better health outcomes."

The Women's Health Van will be deployed through community partners across the GTA, including organizations that support newcomers, refugees, women experiencing financial hardship and other underserved populations. The van is stocked with essential health and hygiene products and will provide educational resources and connections to healthcare support through community-based outreach.

"What drew us to this partnership was the opportunity to bring resources and support directly to the women who may be facing barriers to care," said Sarey Wulf, Head of Corporate Affairs at Haleon Canada. "Self-care plays an important role in helping people manage their everyday health, but access isn’t always equal. By working alongside GlobalMedic, Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health and community partners, we’re helping make healthcare more accessible to the women who need it most."

"At Shoppers Foundation for Women's Health, we are committed to advancing women's health equity and creating a future where women have access to the care and support they need to thrive," said Paulette Minard, Director, Community Investment & Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health. "This initiative is a powerful example of how partnership can help bring care closer to the people who need it most and improve access to community-based support."

The Women's Health Van represents more than a mobile service. It is a practical example of what can be achieved when organizations come together to help address barriers to care. As deployments continue across the GTA, Haleon, GlobalMedic and Shoppers Foundation for Women's Health encourage community members to support the organizations working every day to improve access and health outcomes for women and families.
